The Visitor

Last Wednesday we had a visitor. He had a nice time in our yard. Enjoyed a large breakfast. They boys ran from window to window watching him.

Eventually the turkey realized he could not find an exit and ran around the yard in a panic.  Joe eventually drove him to the gate opening and off he went on his way.

Pictures of Recent Events

Taking a break from catching up on older posts, here are some pictures of recent outings and fun. Here is a picture of Jason in his balloon hat, sword and scabbard. We attended "Natick Days" which was full of fun. Here Jason and I are behind a fire truck. It was a nice day, sunny and a light breeze, and the boys had a great time eating ice cream and having lots of fun.
Kevin has been an understanding brother. Especially as Jason has garnered a lot of attention at home and at school with his loose tooth and now missing tooth. Here he shows us his big beautiful smile.

This one is from last Friday and a visit to Lowe's. The boys are driving a Lowe's NASCAR race car shopping cart.

In other news, the boys had their first sleep over the next day, Saturday. They did very well sleeping over at Mimi and Papa's.

Here are the boys at play. They are scuba diver, repairmen. Note the goggles, masks and power tools. The rocking chairs are overturned for repair.

Jason Loses His First Tooth

On Thursday Jason lost his first tooth. It's been loose for awhile. Courtesy of a fall and a break in the gum line. On Wednesday the tooth bled. He insisted that he would not lose any teeth. Ever.

We've been reading books and talking about the Tooth Fairy in order to be prepared.

I arrived at preschool to pick up the boys and Jason ran up to me excited and breathless, eager to tell me and show me all about his tooth.

He was brave about the whole thing and very excited. You can see here that he's giving his best grin in these 2 pictures.

Later that night, the Tooth Fairy visited and left an envelope under Jason's pillow. In the morning, I asked Jason if the Tooth Fairy had visited. He ran into his room and looked under the pillow and exclaimed, 'She left me a message!"

Jason tore open the envelope and discovered some stickers and a dollar bill. He has carried the stickers and the dollar bill around the house ever since.

Cute Pix

Kevin - Ukulele Rock Star

Joe got a ukulele for  his birthday. Kevin took an immediate liking to the ukulele. Here are a few pictures of him rocking out with Joe's uke.

On Saturdays we will frequently have in-house concerts. Jason likes to set up his drum kit and will also play my keyboards. Kevin likes to play a variety of instruments ranging from a train whistle to a kazoo to a harmonica. He also likes to play Joe's violin while Jason likes Joe's 6 string guitar.
It's always a fun time and the boys have a great time creating music and trying new things and being in charge of their own orchestras.

Joe's Birthday

Continue on our tour of 2012, we celebrated Joe's birthday with a Star Wars theme. Here you can see his ice cream cake from Ben and Jerry's with Luke and Darth Vader battling it out over who will get the biggest piece.

The boys helped Joe blow out the candles.

The happy birthday boy with his boys.

Having Some Fun

One night I was bouncing the boys on my knee while singing the soccer anthem "Ole". I've tried to post the video but it's too large so here are some photos that also capture the fun.

Snaps of Snips

The boys aren't fans of getting haircuts. We've tried the Snippits chain twice. Lots of tears and too much stress for everyone so we do snips at home. Here are some snaps of the February haircuts. You can see how Kevin's turned out on the left while Jason patiently waits to be finished.

What motivates them to be so good for something they dislike so much? Check out the huge green race car lollipop in Kevin's hand. Now THAT is motivation.
You can see we still had the Christmas tree up in February. There was no snow so we clung to the holidays to counter the brown grass and dreary New England snow-less winter.

First Day of Preschool!

It was a big day for our boys. Their first day of Preschool. The day started out dreary and rainy and Kevin has a terrible cold. However, the boys were looking forward to their first day. Although, Jason expressed disappointment when we pulled up to the same place we'd been going to all Summer. In fact, his words, "Why are we here? I want a new preschool."  Kevin had no comment. Blame the cold as he's rarely without a comment. Jason attends class downstairs and Kevin attends upstairs. They come back together for lunch and nap and then the rest of the day, who knows.

Kevin ran to me and jumped up into my arms when I arrived to take them home. Jason ran over and then ran back to play a bit more before leaving. They had a snack of chocoloate Cheerios and Scooby Doo gummy snacks in the car. Jason asked if there was anything else to eat in the car. Aside from the stale Cheerios on the floor mats, nope.

They both said they had a great day and played with lots of kids. They learned a new song about a hot dog sizzling in a pan which Kevin sang to me while our corn muffins baked. Cute song. Yummy muffins.

All in all, a good day. The top picture and the picture to the left are serious ones that I managed to capture by telling them that the next one could be a silly one.

Love,
Kathy
